Starting in Redding, CA on 44 we traveled through Lassen National Forest to meet up on I395 into Reno, NV.  We followed I80 from Reno through Salt Lake City, UT into Wyoming passing through Cheyenne. Next we headed into Nebraska passing through Lincoln and Omaha cities.  From Nebraska we next headed through Iowa driving through Des Moines and Davenport.  Illinois was the next state cutting just south of Chicago, which led to Indiana.  We remember crossing 4 states in one day, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.  We followed I80 until it changed to I90 through South Bend, IN to Toledo OH, and once in Ohio we followed the southern banks of Lake Erie.
Back on I80 we traveled from Cleveland, Ohio through Scranton Pennsylvania where we changed over to I84 and moved into Connecticut and went through Hartford and onto the I90 entry point of West Massachusetts on the MA Turnpike.  At this point we were close to home and followed I90 to I95/128 and on into the Cape Ann area north east of Boston. The total distance was 3110 miles from start to finish. More details of where we stopped each night will follow. We left on 7/10 and arrived on 7/15 to the storage location as it is too large to park at our rental.

I apologize for the lack of updates for the travel from California back to Gloucester, MA. There was a hitch in getting insurance coverage that delayed the departure by 5 days forcing a less than optimal driving time for the return.  Having 5 days less to travel caused us to focus on the drive and did not leave extra time to post along the way. Updates to follow now that will add details of the 3100 mile drive back.

We start at the beginning right!  After a family crisis we acquired a 37 foot RV that had little mileage and lots of possibilities. The journey will begin in Redding California where the beast is located, as we fly out from Boston to Sacramento then rent a car to get to Redding some 3 hours north of Sacramento.  It is now June 24th, just a few days remain before flying from Boston to Sacramento, then renting a car one-way to Redding.  The following few days will be spent on local excursions to get a feel for the handling, corners, and parking as new tires, a fresh oil change and all belts and hoses are checked out for this 3200 mile journey.
